What does the SFTP Connector do?

The SFTP connector allows you to connect NetSuite to an SFTP server. It supports all the commonly used authentication methods. The connection can be easily configured from the NetSuite user interface and does not require coding. The ideal tool to send files to and collect files from an SFTP server.

Both are file transfer protocols, however the S stands for Secure. FTP is commonly used for transferring files via the Internet and used for things such as downloading files or software. SFTP supports full security and authentication functionality meaning the user has to have the right credentials in order to receive or send files.

More or less any types of files can be sent or received using the SFTP Application. Some examples of files that you might want to send or receive include: Bank Statement files, Bank Batch payment files and Sending packing slip information to to a 3rd party logistics company.

For downloads we need to know: - Location of the remote server - The NetSuite folder id where the file should be saved For uploads: - If receive just the file or use the file to trigger a process in NetSuite - Location of the remote server - What action to take if the file already exists

SFTP Connector allows the user to be able to configure the SFTP connector using the easy to use User Interface. This reduces the time to implement the SFTP Connector and also includes new functionality: - List the files in the remote directory - Delete or move files on the remote host
